According to Bashir Ali H. Mohammad, the global economy is at a crossroads, poised to either continue its gradual comeback or once again slide backward. The key to pushing it forward in a positive direction, he says, is collaboration and jointly developing solutions that work for the entire supply chain.

“The global economy stands in such a fragile state that it is poised delicately balanced between a slow recovery or a second slide, which the experts bill as a double dip recession,” says Mohammad, president of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation. “At this junction, it is important to sit collectively, analyze the current scenario, and jointly consider various future strategies.”

Mohammad, recently announced as the keynote speaker at the Cotton International 2012 Global Summit to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, April 25-27, believes the event is exactly the kind of face-to-face forum the cotton and textile professionals need to discuss their challenges and work together to find solutions that work for everyone.

“The Cotton International Global Summit in Bangkok provides a timely opportunity and a conducive platform to exchange views while discussing different ideas on how to navigate through these uncertain times,” he says. “Gaining a better understanding of each other’s challenges is a prerequisite to overcoming obstacles and paving the way for a successful future.”
