Marzoli Books $103 Million in Orders at ITMA 2011

The International Textile Machinery Association (ITMA) event only comes around once every four years, so exhibitors and attendees need to make the most of the opportunity. Marzoli S.p.a., a textile machinery manufacturer based in Palazzolo, Italy, did exactly that during the ITMA conference, which was held in Barcelona, Spain, Sept. 22-29. A report recently released by the company shows it negotiated contracts worth more than $103 million for deliveries starting in June 2012.

More than 1,350 exhibitors were at the event, which was attended by 980 visitors from 63 countries. The largest contingent came from India (27.5%of attendees), followed by the Far East region (17.6 percent), the Americas (14.3 percent) and China (9.4 percent).

To accommodate the changes in the global economy over recent years, Marzoli also announced the opening of several new sales and service centers in China, India and Uzbekistan. Those are in addition to the existing centers in the United States and Turkey, with new centers planned for future openings in Brazil, Argentina and Pakistan, the company says.
