Nicosia Named to CFTC Convergence Subcommittee

American Cotton Shippers Association (ACSA) President Joe Nicosia, previously nominated by ACSA, was appointed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to its newly created Subcommittee on Convergence in Agricultural Commodity Markets. Nicosia, a member of the CFTC’s Agricultural Advisory Committee, will participate in identifying the causes of poor cash-futures convergence in select agricultural commodity markets and advise the Commission on the necessary actions to remedy the situation.

Nicosia is CEO of Allenberg Cotton Co. in Cordova, TN.

“I would like to thank those who were nominated for their interest in this issue and their willingness to serve the Commission,” said CFTC Acting Chairman Michael V. Dunn. “I look forward to the Subcommittee’s work, and am confident that the Subcommittee will advance the Agricultural Advisory Committee and Commission’s efforts to address the lack of convergence.”
