Scientists Honored At ICPA

ICPA honored two individuals for outstanding work in the field of precision agriculture during the ICPA Conference Awards Luncheon, categorized by the age and experience of the recipient. The Pierre C. Robert Precision Agriculture Scientist Awards, named after the ICPA founder and international precision ag pioneer who passed away in 2003, recipients are chosen based on their significant contributions to precision agriculture science and technology.

Receiving the Senior Award for 2010 was William Raun, soil fertility professor at Oklahoma State University, who has done extensive work in the field of nitrogen sensor technology and algorithms. Raun received his award from (left) Dr. Raj Khosla of Colorado State University and Dr. Fran Pierce of Washington State University.

Receiving the Young Scientist Award was Bruno Basso, associate professor in the department of Crop Systems, Forestry and Environmental Sciences at the University of Basilicata in Italy. Presenting his award was Khosla and Dr. Viacheslav Adamchuk, McGill University, Montreal.
