Uganda’s Cotton Production Increases Two-Fold

Uganda’s cotton production grew two-fold following a year of higher global prices, according to Fibre2Fashion.

Cotton production rose to 254,036 bales from 147,000 bales in 2011. An “aggressive” campaign aimed at providing farmers with high quality seeds and legitimate pesticides contributed to the growth, said Okassai Opolot, Director of Crop Production in the Agriculture Ministry, in the article.
