Crop Progress: Harvest Activity Shows Solid Growth

Cotton harvest continues to pick up, as all cotton producing states showed significant increases in field activity in the past week, according to the USDA Crop Progress report for the week ending Oct. 24.

Currently, 35% of the U.S. cotton crop has been harvested – up 7 percentage points from last week but still 6 points behind the 5-year average for the date. Arkansas, California, Missouri, and Tennessee all showed double-digit increases, with three states – Arizona, California, and Texas – running ahead of their individual 5-year averages.
