Crop Progress: Latest Cotton Harvest Numbers

The USDA Crop Progress report for the week ending Nov. 13 shows that 71% of the U.S. cotton crop has now been harvested – up 9 percentage points in the past week. That’s 8 percentage points ahead of the 5-year average for this date.

State-by-state harvest numbers range from 53% harvested in Arizona to 100% harvested in Louisiana. The biggest percentage changes in the past week were seen in Oklahoma (up 16 points), Kansas (up 14 points), Alabama (up 11 points), and California, Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas (all up 10 points).

In all, 14 of the 15 cotton-producing states were reported ahead of harvest average this week.
