April is Plant Health Month
BASF is introducing for the first time Plant Health Month in April to raise awareness of the improved Plant Health benefits, optimal disease control and increased yields delivered by Headline fungicide. In addition to educating about the benefits of Plant Health, the month-long campaign also includes Headline gear giveaways and a contest with prizes up for grabs.
“April is an ideal month to talk about the importance of Plant Health benefits because the season is just beginning and growers are working hard to ensure they will achieve maximum yield potential in their crops,” said Dr. Gary Schmitz, Midwest Regional Technical Manager, North America, BASF Agricultural Products. “Headline offers more than just disease control. It also provides physiological benefits that can help growers get the most out of every acre.”
Growers can visit http://planthealth.agweb.com for resources about Plant Health Month, Headline field trial data and success stories from growers who have witnessed the Plant Health benefits of Headline firsthand.
The Headline Storytellers Contest also kicks off as part of Plant Health Month, which includes great prizes, including an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and 2010 Commodity Classic registrations. Growers can register for the contest at http://planthealth.agweb.com and those who register in April also will receive free Headline gear.
After registering for the Headline Storytellers Contest, growers can share their success stories by December 1, 2009, demonstrating the plant health benefits they achieved using Headline in the 2009 growing season. One grower will win the grand prize – an ATV valued at up to $8,000. The second- and third-place winners will receive complimentary travel to the 2010 Commodity Classic show in Anaheim, CA. The fourth- through seventh-place winners each will win a $200 gift card to Cabela’s and a Headline-branded Victorinox backpack.
Too often, growers wait until they spot disease in their fields before spraying, which is too late to achieve superior disease control and increases the risk of yield loss. Headline improves plant ealth by acting on three unique areas of a plant’s growth: excellent disease control, improved growth efficiency, and enhanced tolerance to stress conditions such as drought, heat, cold temperatures and ozone damage.
