Fonnie Smith Named Eastern Regional Manager at J. Oliver Products
July 6, 2010 J. Oliver Products, LLC is pleased to announce Fonnie Smith as its Eastern Regional Manager. His new responsibilities include servicing the Southeast distribution channel.
“We’re very pleased to have Fonnie join us,” says company owner James Oliver. “In addition to being steeped in both distribution and manufacturing experience, he is well-known and well-respected throughout the agricultural industry. Fonnie will help enhance our company’s presence and customer service in the Southeast.”
For the last 10 years, Fonnie was Vice President of Marketing for Chem Nut, Inc. where he implemented the first Bar Coding system within the USA in the ag industry at the distributor level. He has been involved in the agricultural business since 1976, when he began working for Woolfolk Chemical of Georgia, in South Carolina. He later worked for USS AgriChemical, Hoechst Agri Vet Company and AgrEvo. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration Management at Francis Marion College.
Fonnie says, “I’m very excited about joining the J. Oliver Products team. They provide an extensive portfolio of premium off-patent crop protection products that are respected in the industry. And they continually add new products to meet growers’ needs.”
Fonnie and his wife, Amanda, have been married for 32 years. They currently live in Albany, Georgia.
