In an effort to recognize the individual excellence in precision agriculture, the PrecisionAg InstituteTM today announced the launch of the PrecisionAg Award of Excellence.

The award will honor three individuals who are working to advance precision agriculture technology adoption, use, education and research. Nomination criteria will include:

  • Demonstration of leadership in adoption
  • Innovative use of precision agriculture technology products and practices
  • Responsible use of precision agriculture technology
  • Professionalism and stewardship
  • Active participation in precision agriculture education and promotion

“New technologies and improvements in precision farming are constantly changing the direction of the agriculture industry,” said Paul Schrimpf, group editor of the CropLife Media Group and manager of the PrecisionAg Institute. “It’s our honor and privilege to recognize those who work every day to stay ahead of the game and make a difference in our field. These inductees will serve as examples of excellence for agriculture.”

Deserving nominations will be considered and reviewed by a selection panel consisting of industry leaders and precision agriculture experts. Three honorees will be inducted each year, and will be recognized in person at the annual InfoAg Conference, in the pages of the PrecisionAg Buyer’s Guide and on www.precisionag.com. Nominations for the 2007 award will be accepted through April 10. Visit www.precisionag.com for more information or to nominate a deserving candidate.
