Valent, Monsanto Reinforce Roundup Rewards Program Partnership
January 19, 2010 Valent U.S.A. Corporation and Monsanto Company have strengthened their partnership in the Roundup Rewards program with updated incentives to help farmers protect their herbicide investment in 2010.
The companies have joined forces on two programs: the Volunteer Roundup Ready Corn 2 Cost-Share Allowance and the START CLEAN, STAY CLEAN. Assurance Plan.
Enhanced for 2010, farmers who use Valent’s Select Max Herbicide with Inside Technology to help control volunteer Roundup Ready Corn 2 in Roundup Ready cotton may now receive up to $4 per acre to protect their bottom line.
Company officials say the continued Valent-Monsanto relationship helps farmers take a programmed approach to weed management with the confidence their herbicide investment will be protected should uncertainty develop over a season.
“Researchers consistently recommend a strong residual like Valor, Valor XLT and Gangster as part of a program to help fight tough weeds and maximize yield potential,” said Jamie Nielson, Valent brand manager. “University research has shown an increase of 3-4 bushels per acre when using a strong residual product–this can result in up to a $20.00 per acre return on your investment. In addition, farmers can have the confidence that Select Max provides excellent volunteer corn control and higher incentives through Roundup Rewards program. It’s a win-win.”
