Cotton Incorporated to Host Price Risk Seminar
January 31, 2012 On February 15, Cotton Incorporated will sponsor a seminar on market-based strategies for how to manage price risk for the 2012 crop season.
The seminar will be held at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, TN, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Mike Stevens, Cotton Economist, will be the discussion Leader.
Main topics will include:
- Why are options on cotton futures critical to your business?
- What can options do for you and how?
- Actionable hedging strategies based on various price scenarios.
Presenters will include:
· Dr. Carl Anderson and Dr. John Robinson will discuss when and how to use a variety of option strategies including: fences, 3-ways and calendar back spreads.
· The 2012 market outlook will be presented by Dr. O.A. Cleveland, cotton marketing specialist.
