Americot rode to success on the performance of two varieties in 2014 – NexGen NG 4111 RF and NG 1511 B2RF. For 2015, the company is adding another horse to the stable – NG 3306 B2RF.

NG 3306 B2RF is an early- to mid-maturity variety that company researchers have field tested for the past three years. According to company officials, the variety is targeted to the High Plains cotton areas of Texas, primarily for fields with limited to full irrigation. Those tests have shown excellent yield potential from NG 3306 B2RF, along with a desirable fiber package and good resistance to Verticillium wilt.

Growers from Virginia to Arizona helped make NG 1511 B2RF the sixth most planted variety in 2014, capturing a little over four percent of U.S. cotton acres. Its versatility across multiple growing environments and high yields continue to make it a solid choice for growers.

NG 4111 RF continues to be a popular choice for growers in the Southwest looking for a straight Flex variety for dryland acres.

Behind the scenes, Americot researchers are continuing their work on new varieties with Monsanto’s Bollgard II XtendFlex technology, which is in the latter stages of regulatory review.
