U.S. Loan Program Could Take Price Pressure Off of Cotton Farmers

As U.S. cotton harvest begins, cotton futures are sitting at five-year lows – below the threshold that triggers government loan repayment assistance to farmers.

According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, that assistance program could help support prices and take the pressure off growers to market their cotton immediately after harvest.
