Growth Continues for Dyna-Gro and All-Tex
From Cotton Grower Magazine – November 2014
When Crop Production Services acquired All-Tex in December 2012, it effectively merged the Dyna-Gro and All-Tex brands of cotton. Now, company representatives say the two brands are truly intertwined, and are producing stronger varieties with each passing year.
“We have a two brand approach,” says Shawn Carter, seed agronomist with the company. “We’ll continue to put varieties in All-Tex and Dyna-Gro bags depending on the needs that our growers have.” The regional fit of each variety will determine which brand it falls under – varieties that fit well in the Southeast will likely be branded as Dyna-Gro, while those better suited for the Southwest will fall under the All-Tex umbrella.
The company could introduce as many as nine new varieties with a dicamba-tolerant trait to the market in 2015, according to Carter.
The two brands accounted for nearly seven percent of Upland acres in 2014, thanks to proven varieties like DG 2285 B2RF.
“It works from Arizona all the way to the Carolinas,” Carter says. “We’ve had some tremendous success in Texas with it, and even saw some 5.5-bale yields in some spots.”
Carter also cited DG 2570 B2RF and All-Tex offerings Edge B2RF and Epic RF as varieties that will be in high demand in 2015.
