Survey Seeks to Capture the State of Mid-South Ag
The Mid-South Farm & Gin Show is conducting a survey to capture some insights from our attendees, exhibitors and others. They’re asking farmers, agribusiness, and others to share their sentiments on the current state of agriculture as well as their ideas for addressing the situation. The intent? Gather meaningful data about attitudes and perspectives on the industry challenges that extend beyond immediate financial relief needs.
The survey is being conducted digitally and provides some demographic information as well as a series of questions that provide multiple choices, and space to put comments in the individual’s own words. Some of the questions include:
• As you look at your operation and the viability of local communities over the next two years, will you be better off or worse off than you are now?
• Given a list of factors impacting agriculture, which are most concerning to you? Looking at the top five factors you selected, what recommendations could help improve the situation?
• How competitive do you believe U.S. agriculture is today in the global market compared to major competitors? Has it improved or declined over the past 5 years?
You can take the survey at: https://bit.ly/MSFGSsurvey.

The survey is part of a programming focus that is also illustrated in two special panel discussions at the Show:
• On Friday, Arkansas Farm Bureau’s Jason Brown will moderate a panel of farmers, therapists, and faith leaders centering on the challenges stress and mental health are presenting and various ways to address those challenges.
• On Saturday, February 28, following Richard Brock’s Grain Marketing Outlook. This panel will be hosted by Richard Brock and moderated by Jason Moss and will take place immediately following Brock’s Ag outlook session on grains and grain marketing. (Please pre-register for the Show at the Farm & Gin Show website).
Representatives from seed, ag equipment, and ag financial sectors will give presentations and then take questions from the audience. In addition to input from the survey, we hope to provide perspectives and input on the current and future state of US farmer competitiveness in the global market.
All data, collected via the digital survey or in person, will be compiled in a summary report to be made publicly available. The report will also be distributed to state and federal legislators, and state and national farm and commodity organizations. The Show hopes this encourages much-needed discussions and hearings about the challenges and changes in the agribusiness and farm structures, looking ahead to the emerging outlook for US farm competitiveness in a rapidly changing domestic and international world markets.
The 74th annual Mid-South Farm & Gin Show will be held February 27-28, 2026, at the Renasant Convention Center in Memphis. Registration and additional information are available at farmandginshow.com.
