ASABE Seeks Cotton Expertise to Establish New Cotton Standard

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has announced a new standards project for terminology pertaining to cotton harvesting, fiber quality, and ginning data and invites those with relevant expertise to participate in the development of the document.

The drafting committee for X677, Cotton Harvest, Fiber Quality, and Ginning Data Terminology, is looking for experts to review and provide industry feedback. The opportunity is available to any qualified individual who expresses interest in the standard. Membership in ASABE is not required. This committee typically meets in person twice a year, at the Beltwide Cotton Conference in January and the ASABE Annual International Meeting, typically held in July. The group may also meet virtually. Meetings are typically under one hour in duration.

Individuals unable to commit the time to review documents throughout the year are welcome to join as Observing Members for awareness of the committee’s work.
