Camp Hand Named 2024 Beltwide Cotton Specialist of the Year

Camp Hand, Ph.D., University of Georgia Extension Cotton Specialist based in Tifton, GA, was recognized as the 2024 Beltwide Cotton Specialist of the Year during the recent Beltwide Cotton Conferences in Fort Worth, TX.

The annual award, sponsored by Bayer and determined by the University Extension Cotton Specialists, is presented to recognize leadership, dedication, and exceptional service in developing and conducting educational programs to meet the needs of cotton producers and the U.S. cotton industry.

Hand earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Auburn University and his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. He was named Georgia Extension Cotton Specialist in February 2021.
