Davis Named 2014 Good Middling Lady by Delta Council
June 4, 2014 Candy Davis of Shaw, MS, was recently honored by the Delta Council as the 2014 Good Middling Lady.
Coined after the term “good middling” – the highest grade in quality cotton production – the annual award recognizes deserving individuals who have sustained significant efforts to promote community and economic vitality in the Mississippi Delta.
Shaw has been active in numerous community, civic and agricultural organizations in the Bolivar County, MS area for many years. She describes herself as both a farmer and homemaker who has volunteered her time and talents to the children of the community. She has also served on the boards of the Bolivar Medical Center, Bayou Academy and Bolivar County Farm Bureau.
She has also received numerous honors and awards for her work with the Chickasaw Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Cleveland Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce, among others.
