Davis Named Next CEO of Southern Cotton Growers

Jim Davis of New Market, AL, has been named the next CEO of Southern Cotton Growers, Inc.

Davis will succeed current CEO David Ruppenicker, who is retiring on Dec. 31, 2023.

Raised on a fifth-generation family farm which includes cotton as their primary crop, Davis will become only the fourth CEO of Southern Cotton Growers since its founding in 1964. The organization represents all cotton producers in the six-state Southeast Region (AL, FL, GA, NC, SC, VA).

He will join the organization on Oct. 1.

Davis brings more than 30 years of industry knowledge and experience with the  National Cotton Council (NCC) to Southern Cotton Growers. At NCC, he was responsible for collaborating and building consensus among cotton organizations to help address industry needs and develop a satisfactory resolution to key industry matters.
