Georgia Cotton Commission Welcomes Trump Support for BACA

The Georgia Cotton Commission (GCC) welcomes the recent announcement from the Trump Administration supporting the Buying American Cotton Act (BACA). BACA aims to build structural demand for American cotton by providing tax incentives for brands and retailers who purchase and document their inclusion of American cotton.

Georgia Cotton Commission Chairman Bart Davis, a cotton producer from Colquitt County, stated, “We appreciate any support of the cotton industry given by President Trump and his administration. If passed, this legislation will increase the demand for cotton, which supports local producers and strengthens the entire cotton industry.”

The Georgia Cotton Commission is a producer-funded organization located in Perry, Georgia. The Commission began in 1965. Georgia cotton producers pay an assessment enabling the Commission to invest in programs of research, promotion, and education on behalf of all cotton producers of Georgia.
