Managing Bollworms in Dual Gene Bt Cotton

Extension specialists throughout the Southeast and Mid-South have been reporting extensive moth flights and heavier-than-normal bollworm activity in cotton fields in recent days. Depending on geography, bollworm populations are even threatening cotton containing dual gene Bt traits.

Angus Catchot and Jeff Gore at Mississippi State University have been monitoring the situation closely and offer suggestions and threshold guidelines for when additional treatments may be needed.
