USTER Debuts Total Contamination Control System

During the recent ITMA Asia and CITME 2014 in Shanghai, Uster Technologies shared details of how systems from the recently-acquired Jossi Systems AG integrate with existing USTER applications to provide a Total Contamination Control system.

USTER products already provide textile mills the abiltiy to handle essential yarn production tasks before and after spinning, including ginning and cotton classing, fiber testing and cleaning, yarn testing, and in-process yarn cleaning at the winder. The addition of the new USTER JOSSI systems provide additional automated solutions for cleaning raw fiber to remove both natural and synthetic contaminants in the blowroom, before they can impact the quality of subsequent processes.

The Total Contamination Control system combines the USTER JOSSI Vision Shield with the USTER Quantum 3 yarn cleaners to give spinners the option to manage contamination issues in either the raw cotton fiber or the yarn. The two elements in the system complement each other by increasing or decreasing the sensitivity of detection, allowing the degree of control to be set to suit individual needs.

“We are proud to integrate the new systems, masterpieces of Swiss textile machinery,” says Uster Technologies CEO Dr. Geoffrey Scott. “Successful and satisfied customers are our guarantee of good business. Therefore, USTER will always be ready with new ideas to help yarn producers achieve better business results.”
