California Grower’s Yield Tops 2021 BASF Stoneville Legacy Club

Drew Clark Farming became the first California cotton grower to record the highest yield for the 2021 Stoneville Legacy Club – 2,775 lbs/A.
BASF received a record 171 applications for the 2021 Legacy Club, which recognizes farmers committed to producing a top quality, high-yielding cotton crop. Thirty-two farms qualified by harvesting yields in the top 10% of their states, with five of those farms being three-time winners. Thirteen growers reported yields topping 2,000 lbs/A in 2021.
The winners join nearly 200 other Stoneville Legacy Club members who represent top-producing cotton growers in their respective states.
“These results and strong club participation across the Cotton Belt are a testament to the high-yielding, premium-quality cotton farmers attain when they choose Stoneville cotton,” said Rachel Walters, Regional Grower & Channel Marketing Manager, Seeds for BASF Agricultural Solutions.
Stoneville cotton’s reputation for consistency and quality is a century in the making, with the brand celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year.
“We’re honored that so many growers have entrusted their legacy to ours,” Walters added.
Several other growers received special awards for their 2021 Stoneville cotton yields, in addition to qualifying for the Stoneville Legacy Club. Farmers had the opportunity to enter yields in the irrigated and/or non-irrigated/dryland categories.
Noted for highest yields were:
West Irrigated: Drew Clark Farming, CA – 2,775 lbs/A
Southwest Irrigated: Billy Eggemeyer Farms TX – 2,707 lbs/A
East Non-Irrigated: Fleming Brothers Farms LLC, NC – 2,278 lbs/A
Delta Irrigated: Wildy Family Farms, AR – 2,104 lbs/A
Delta Non-Irrigated: John M. Bixler Farms, MO – 1,934 lbs/A
East Irrigated: Ben and Parker Newton, GA – 1,615 lbs/A
Southwest Dryland: Briggeman West, KS – 1,427 lbs/A
