SHI Plans Webinars on Economics of Soil Health Systems in Cotton

The Soil Health Institute (SHI) is conducting two webinars in November focusing on the economics of soil health systems in cotton.

Registration for both webinars is encouraged.

The first webinar – Economics of Soil Health Management Systems on Eight Cotton Farms in the Texas Southern Great Plains – will be held Nov. 16 from 12:00 to 12:40 pm EST (click here for online registration).

The second webinar – Economics of Soil Health Management Systems on Eight Cotton Farms in Georgia – will be held Nov. 30 from 12:00 to 12:40 pm EST (click here to register).

SHI is also planning additional webinars for early 2024 focusing on research on cover crops for weed suppression.

“We know we have a significant adoption rate of reduced tillage or no-till across the Cotton Belt, but adoption of cover crops has been slower,” says Jessica Kelton, Soil Health Educator for the Institute, speaking in a recent episode of the Cotton Companion podcast. “We’re developing two fact sheets focused on the weed suppression potential of cover crops in cotton, and we plan to hold webinars when those sheets are released.”
