Bowen Flowers Elected Chairman of American Cotton Producers
Bowen Flowers, a Clarksdale, MS, cotton producer, was elected chairman of the American Cotton Producers (ACP) of the National Cotton Council (NCC) for 2014, during the NCC’s recent annual meeting.
The ACP is an organization of cotton producer leaders elected by their peers and uniformly distributed among the major cotton-producing states. The ACP is the producers’ advocate within the NCC and has responsibility for developing recommendations on all matters affecting the cotton production sector.
Currently a NCC director, Flowers has served on and chaired various ACP and NCC committees and task forces. He will also serve as the at-large NCC producer director.
Elected as ACP vice chairmen were Ronald Lee, Bronwood, GA; Dan Thelander, Maricopa, AZ; and Jon Whatley, Odem, TX.
Elected as NCC producer directors were Michael Tate, Huntsville, AL, representing the Southeast region; Ted Schneider, Lake Providence, LA, representing the Mid-South region; and Shawn Holladay, Lubbock, TX, representing the Southwest region. Donald Cameron, Helm, CA, was re-elected to represent the Western region.
