Crop Management Seminar Presentations Now Available Online

Growers and consultants who could not attend Cotton Incorporated’s biennial Crop Management Seminar (CMS) in Tifton, GA last November can now view the recorded presentations online at their convenience.

Cotton Incorporated and the Plant Management Network have produced and launched webcasts of the 2014 CMS presentations, which include all non-proprietary talks from the general session.

Eight presentations given by research and Extension scientists during the two-day general session are now available online. Through these talks, growers and practitioners in all cotton-growing regions can get a review of the 2014 growing season, as well as keep up on the latest technologies and best crop management practices.

Available presentations include:

      • “Review of 2014 Cotton Season” – Guy Collins, University of Georgia
    • “Enhancing the Value of Precision Ag Data With Unmanned Aerial Systems” – Mike Buschermohle, University of Tennessee
    •  “Managing New Cotton Varieties” – Jared Whittaker, University of Georgia
    • “Water Management: Precision Irrigation Scheduling and Site Drought Characterization” – Tyson Raper, University of Tennessee
    • “The Road to Soil Health: Farming in the 21st Century” – Steve Woodruff, USDA-ARS

“This year’s CMS addressed hot topics in cotton production and offered important crop management information utilizing the latest technologies available for use in the field now as well as in the future,” said Ryan Kurtz, director of Agricultural and Environmental Research at Cotton Incorporated. “These webcasts give attendees the opportunity to revisit the meeting, and provide newcomers a chance to see the valuable information that they missed, all at their convenience.”

The 2014 CMS webcasts, as well as corresponding PowerPoint presentations in PDF format, are located in Focus on Cotton, a webcast resource jointly published by Cotton Incorporated and the Plant Management Network. These resources are also located on the Cotton Incorporated website.
