Participation Urged for Texas Palmer Amaranth Study

Glyphosate-resistant Palmer amaranth has caused costly impacts on cotton production in many areas of the Cotton Belt. The team at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is conducting a survey to determine weed management systems commonly used by growers, as well as the current extent of glyphosate-resistance.

The team surveyed this subject at this time last year, but need to collect one more year of data to complete the study.

Grower participation will help them to understand the extent of glyphosate-resistant Palmer amaranth in West Texas. Answers from this survey will be used by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Weed Science Team to guide research efforts and provide better information to cotton producers.

Completion of this survey should take 3-5 minutes. Participation is voluntary – participants may skip any question or quit the survey at any time. No personal information will be collected.

The survey is online and can be accessed by entering the password “pigweed”.
