FiberMax Honors 2010 One Ton Club Inductees

Bayer CropScience recently hosted the fifth annual FiberMax One Ton Club awards banquet to honor the 2009 class of One Ton Club growers. The club recognizes growers who produce 2,000 lbs or more of lint cotton per acre on at least 20 acres using FiberMax cotton.
Seventy-six growers achieved one-ton yields in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas to bring the total number of members to 308 since the club was established in 2005. These growers overcame seasonal challenges and a shorter growing season in much of the Southwest.
According to Jeff Brehmer, U.S. marketing manager for FiberMax cotton, growers have produced One Ton Club yields with 21 FiberMax varieties. These varieties offer yield, fiber quality and production options that fit diverse farming operations.
“It is our honor to recognize these growers for their outstanding achievement,” Brehmer said. “These growers employ innovative production practices to produce high-quality, high-yielding cotton. We congratulate these growers on their success and commend them for their efforts.”
One Ton Truck Winner
The banquet featured the drawing for a two-year lease on a Ford Super Duty F-350 King Ranch truck. Kenneth Braden, a fifth-year One Ton Club member from Garden City, Texas, won the lease and said he was excited to accept the prize. Braden averaged 2,420 lbs/A across 65 acres using FM 9160B2F and FM 960B2R.
Individual awards presented during the banquet included highest yield, highest loan value, highest gross value per acre, most acres and most varieties:

- Highest Loan Value and Most One Ton Acres :
Eric Seidenberger, Garden City, Texas, on 227 acres
